Scholarship
Learning is among the four values listed
in Gamma Phi Beta's creed. Our scholarship program provides opportunities,
encouragement and incentives for exceeding in academics. We understand
that academics are important to students (and their parents!) and emphasize
doing well to enhance a sister's life. You're at McGill University, one
of the finest universities in Canada, and you worked hard to get here!
If you're at McGill, education is important to you!
Loyalty Circles
Loyalty Circles are made up of women from each pledge class. The purpose
is to provide each sister with someone to study with (when you need that
extra little push to get to the library...we've all needed it at some
point) and someone to relax with by either watching the OC or Desperate
Housewives or going for dinner (because we all need a break!). Loyalty
Circles also help new members by giving them a support system; new members
can get advice on everything from study skills to where to eat!

Awards
During each semester, several small prizes are given out. Women who improve
their semester GPA, or who get the highest GPA win awards. Also, loyalty
circles with the most improved semester GPA get awards! At our formal,
a Scholarship Award is given to the member with the Highest Overall GPA!
Study Time
Each week, at a specific time and day you can find sisters studying at
the library. This is a way to ensure that you have some incentive to go
to the library (b/c you'll have someone to take breaks with!) throughout
the year. You may find members of your loyalty circle there, or a sister
you haven't seen in a while...
Scholarships
Both Gamma Phi Beta International and the National Panhellenic Conference
offer scholarships for Undergraduates and Graduates. They are meant to
aid members who have financial need and are in good standing with Gamma
Phi Beta.
Skippy Jar
A new tradition, started by our current PR VP, is the skippy jar. Every time we skip a class during the week, we put 25 cents in the skippy jar. If we don't skip a class that week, we put our name in the skippy jar. At the end of the year, a name is pulled out of the jar and the money from the jar goes toward a fun prize for one girl who didn't skip class (at one point) during the year! This years winner was Christina Sauro.
